I have been attending the Cape Coral Festival in Florida for the past three years. However this year they turned me down. That's OK. I can deal with it. I have made at least 3 phone calls with messages and left about 5 emails asking for a refund of my entrance fee. NO RESPONSE. This is run by a Rotary Club. Is that what Rotary Club is about? I really get the feeling that they are hoping that we will forget that we have a $320 refund coming. How many others are in the same boat?
We all try to be professional but I also expect promoters to be professional as well.

hello jerry,

I too applied for this show and was rejected via email for it. Coincidentally they rejected me the week of Thanksgiving, and no one was in the office to answer concerns regarding refunds, all I was able to connect to was a recorded message stating that refunds would go out later that week. To their credit however, my refund was processed approximately a week or so after I received my rejection email (However, it seems as though that since its not their money, they should return it as soon as the rejection is made)

It seems like an oversight on their part, but if you paid through Paypal, initiate a dispute, you can only protect yourself better that way, best of luck to you.

Well after threatening them that I was going to contact the State's Attorney General office, Rotary International and the newspapers and TV stations, yesterday I finally got my refund check. It is such a shame that I had to go through aggravation to get my refund after being notified I was rejected almost three months ago. While it was suggested that this was probably an oversight, why didn't they at least answer any of my emails or phone calls?
