Does anyone have any suggestions for displaying beaded jewelry? I'd like to update my display to make it more interesting and eye-catching. I have black table covers, black shelves and black necklace holders. I want something that will grab attention but not overpower the jewelry. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

One word: light. If you can find a way to use light to showcase your beads in a way that other artists don't, you have an advantage. Also keep in mind that many artists have no lights at all, particularly if the show hours do not run into the evening. If show hours DO run into the evening, lights are an absolute must. When walking shows, I'm always drawn to the jewelry booths that are well lit.

I used to display my jewelry on all black, and now you will not see one bit of black in my booth. All of my displays are now either on white or on wood. My personal belief (and I could be wrong) is that subconsciously people are "scared" by black. White or color or natural material is inviting....black is great to show contrast to color or silver, but I don't think it's good for much else. Make sure the display forms work the best for the shape of your pieces, that they display the jewelry as it will look on the neck, wrist, etc. Pieces laying flat are not as attractive as pieces that have some shape. Do not have anything distracting with pattern or otherwise in the background - make the jewelry pop with no distraction or confusion - that's all it's about. Also, creating different levels of display is quite attractive, and if the product is near eye level or easily viewable, that is the best...remember people are lazy and want to do the least amount of work to view your product, like crouching down or straining to see something.
