Yes this is an established company - allows credit card processing via a smartphone or Tablet. This is where the future of CC processing is headed. VERY affordable rates (not the complete rip-off we're been used to/forced to use.

As soon as our contract is up with current CC processing equipment we are going to start using Square Up. (BTW - some VERY smart people are behing this technology company).

Just a heads up about the Square.
There seems to be some questions about the the security of the transactions. There's a long discussion over at AFI.

I'm not good at technical stuff, but as I understand it, the "security problem" with Square is not about the transaction, but the actual device not having whatever it needs to avoid a crook from implanting a theft device like they do at ATM's etc. Since the device is pretty much always in your possession, this seems to be a non issue.

Or I could be totally off base.

You need to have a particular type of cell phone to use it and if you are at an indoor festival there may not be a signal (happened to me) - the site will tell you what phone you need (think it's Iphone) - it does NOT work with any cell phone
